Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and Sony Interactive Entertainment Bring PlayStation State of Play Event to Theaters

 Alamo Drafthouse Cinema and Sony Interactive Entertainment are working together to give PlayStation fans a special big-screen experience this June. For the first time ever, PlayStation’s popular STATE OF PLAY event will be shown live in movie theaters across the United States.



The live event will take place on June 2 at selected Alamo Drafthouse theaters. Fans will be able to watch the latest PlayStation announcements, new PS5 game reveals, trailers, and updates together with other gamers in real time. The broadcast will happen at 2 PM PT, 4 PM CT, and 5 PM ET.

Alamo Drafthouse CEO Michael Kustermann said the company is excited to bring gaming fans together in theaters and create a new entertainment experience that mixes gaming, movies, and live events. Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Jill Erb also said STATE OF PLAY has become a huge event for PlayStation fans worldwide, and showing it in theaters will make the experience even more exciting and fun.



The theater event will include themed food, drinks, and surprise activities for fans. This partnership between Sony and Alamo Drafthouse has already included special gaming-themed items like the Ghost of Yลtei popcorn bucket and samurai movie screenings.

Fans can attend the event for free by purchasing a refundable food and non-alcoholic drink voucher. Ticket reservations open on May 20 at 8 AM CT through the official Alamo Drafthouse website.
