Georgia Governor Primary Results 2026 Live — Key Winners, Runoff Race and Major Election Updates


Brian Kemp cannot run for governor again because state rules limit how many terms a governor can serve. Because of this, many candidates from both the Republican and Democratic parties entered the race to become Georgia’s next governor.

On the Republican side, former President Donald Trump supported Lt. Gov. Burt Jones in the election. Burt Jones and businessman Rick Jackson received the most votes and moved on to a runoff election, where they will compete again to decide the Republican nominee.

On the Democratic side, former Keisha Lance Bottoms has been one of the most popular candidates in opinion polls. However, she is still facing competition from several other Democratic candidates in the primary race.
